Wild about e-classrooms!
ED 308, Curriculum Design and Assessment for the e-Classroom, took us on an adventure of a lifetime! This exploration involved weekly blog assignments, creating a Course Outline Assignment and completion of an online course module using CourseSites by Blackboard which is a Learning Management System. (LMS).
Our “guide” used an instructional design model that perfectly mapped out our way called the ADDIE Model. You may be wondering, “What is an instructional design?” and “What is the ADDIE model?” First of all, an instructional design is strategic planning of a course. It’s like a blueprint that you design and follow. It helps to connect all the dots to form a clear picture of teaching and learning events. Secondly, the ADDIE Model, ADDIE is an acronym that stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. It’s simply a "tool" to help us think through a course's design. The videos below will give you an overview of the five phases of the ADDIE Model and a glimpse of what we learned on our journey.
