Flipped Classroom
A flipped classroom is a partnering pedagogy that I feel would benefit every classroom. It involves a student-centered approach to learning. Teachers video their lectures and students view them before they come to class. This provides students learning at their own pace. For instance, if a student doesn't fully understand a part of the lesson, they can just rewind the video. How cool is that! Another great benefit is that it allows teachers more time in the classroom to work with students individually. Teachers become facilitators and guides as well as learners. This partnering approach seems to benefit student and teacher, and is definitely a methodology I want to incorporate within my classroom.
